FG RRR N5000 Cash Grant Updates

Hey everyone, we’ve got some new updates about the money help program called the Rapid Response Register (RRR). This update is from September 2023 and it talks about a few different things. We will tell you about the new payment of N30,000, what’s going on with the second batch of help due to COVID-19 and the latest news on the cash help program.

So, here’s the big news. The government is ready to make the list of people who get help bigger and they are going to start giving out money through a program that was started by the people who were in charge before. This all came out when Dr. Betta Edu, who is in charge of helping people and reducing poverty, had a meeting with Mr. Shubham Chaudhuri from the World Bank in Abuja this Thursday. Dr. Edu is planning to help a lot of families with a cash program as a part of a new plan started by President Tinubu. This new plan is all about helping people more and reducing poverty.

Now, you might remember that last November, the old department that was handling this said that they were going to stop the cash help program. But now, the new team led by Dr. Edu is saying they are going to bring it back. They want to check who is getting the help, add more people to the list and start giving out the 800 million dollars they have set aside for this really soon.

Apart from this, they also talked about working together for a big event called the Humanitarian Dialogue and starting a special fund called the Renewed Hope Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation Trust Fund. This fund will get money from different places like the government’s budget, donations from other countries, taxes and help from private companies. Dr. Edu has asked the World Bank to help make the list of people getting help bigger and to give them advice to reach the goals set by the president.

Mr. Chaudhuri from the World Bank said that they are ready to help in every way they can. They are going to support the plan to give out the 800 million dollars soon and help in making the list bigger. They will also help in getting things ready for a big meeting and help in starting the special fund.

Lastly, we want to tell you a bit about the Rapid Response Register (RRR). This program is helped by the World Bank and it was started by the federal team in charge of humanitarian affairs. It’s here to help city and town people who lost money and became poorer because of the bad effects of COVID-19. They are going to give a total of N30,000 to these people, broken down into N5,000 every month for six months. The National Cash Transfer Office says that this program is here to help poor families who don’t have much to begin with, by giving them a little bit of money regularly. This is aimed at helping the poorest families in Nigeria.
