An information technology company is giving twenty-five million naira to help new tech businesses in Ogun state develop new and creative ideas.
Edutams, a company that makes software to manage schools, announced a grant of twenty-five million naira for tech startups interested in creating new and innovative solutions throughout Ogun State.
The founder of Edutams, Ademola Adenubi, said the grant will help create more innovative solutions to improve education through technology.
In a statement, Adenubi also said his tech company recently opened a new cloud-based school management software company called Edutams iHub in Ijebu Ode.
He explained that Edutams iHub is a center that brings young people together to create and develop ideas for using technology to solve problems in the Nigerian education system.
Adenubi again said the grant would help create more innovative solutions to improve education through technology.
He said that Nigerian-made educational technology shows a move towards a more inclusive and adaptable way to digitalize the country’s education system.
Adenubi stressed how important it is for the Universal Basic Education Commission, the Ministry of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy, and local groups to work together to use Nigerian-made solutions to digitalize the education system.
He added that only 10 percent of public and private schools in Nigeria use technology in some way to manage education services, which is why more collaboration is needed to provide a complete benefit.
However, he said Edutams is committed to helping startups and making education more innovative by giving money and space to work on ideas at the new cloud-based school.
Adenubi said they know there’s a need for more creative solutions to improve education through technology, and that Edutams core mission is to work with other founders and startups to bring all-around value to the education system.
He said they are looking for new startups with innovative ideas to work with, and they will provide grant money to any new ideas that fit their vision. This money will allow founders to develop innovative solutions that Edutams can work with.
He further explained that besides the grant, the Edutams iHub workspace would be available to at least five startups so they can work well and comfortably.
He added that they would be working with the Ogun Tech Community to find and choose new startup founders. They are looking for at least five startups, and the exact way to choose them will be decided later. They would be giving their facilities, the Edutams iHub workspace, to these startups so they can finish developing their solutions.
In the meantime, the President of the Ogun Tech Community, Adekunle Durosinmi, praised the innovation and promised Edutams his group’s full support.
He said Edutams’ dedication to helping technology advance and finding solutions for education aligns perfectly with his community’s mission. They are excited to see how Edutams iHub keeps making a positive impact on the future of technology in Ogun State and beyond.
He also said that he believes Edutams opening a physical office will play a key role in building and developing the tech industry in Ogun State. By providing a space that helps people work together, learn, and create new ideas, Edutams is making a significant contribution to the growth and success of their local tech community.
