The Womanity Award: Making Cities Safer for Women

About the author: Laura Somoggi leads the Womanity Award Programme for Prevention of Violence Against Women at The Womanity Foundation. She is an accomplished sustainability professional with a deep understanding of social impact, cross-sector partnerships, women’s empowerment and the international development agenda. Laura has spent the last 10 years working in complex and multi-cultural environments, having led programmes in more than 15 countries. She also sits at the board of Latin American Women’s Rights Service (LAWRS). Her social impact career followed a ten-year career as business journalist. Laura holds an MSc in Organisational and Social Psychology from the London School Economics and BAs both in Business Administration and in Journalism.
